This situation sounds far fetched but it happened to me last week - what should the call be? Bottom of 7, home team down by 1, 1 out, bases loaded. Ball is hit to short stop who runs to 2nd (out) whilst the runner from third gets home (run scored - tied ball game). The runner from 1st stands in the way of the throw to first and waves his arms about to stop the double play. I called the runner nearest home (who had started on 2nd) out for the interference sending us in to extra innings. Any ideas?

Interesting. The rule states that when a deliberate interference occurs the batter-runner & the runner closest to home are called out. Whilst you already had one runner past home plate, you state that WHILST this runner was going over, or over home plate the interference occurred. Me, I have a Ball Game! I would sell the interference so hard, that after I have called the B-R out, I point and say "Runner going Home - OUT" Even if he/she has already crossed the plate. Next time you will not get a Deliberate Interference Nice situation. Spence
